As your career grows, social media gives you a direct line of communication with your fans. This is super helpful if you screw up and want to address the issue before the media does or if there are tabloid rumors that just aren’t true. Now you can quickly reach your fans and tell them the truth.
You can make money on social media promoting the products you love.
You might even meet your heroes (I know an actor who just met THE ROCK…through a tweet!).
You can build a supportive tribe of like-minded artists who are also #Womeninfilm or in your regional market (#AtlantaActor).
You can create your own content or web series. Your content can support your resume and give you control over how you want to be seen and cast.
Social media is an amazing PR tool that can expose your unique brand to thousands (or even millions) of new fans.
Whether you like it or not, having a large (real) following on social can help get you cast.
